Dr Danny Lim is a dually accredited Anaesthesiologist and Intensivist. He graduated from NUS Medicine in 1998. He qualified in as a specialist in Anaesthesia in 2007 and Intensive Care Medicine in 2012 respectively. He trained in for 12 months between 2008-2009 at Mayo Clinic, USA under the Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program.
 
Dr Lim was a senior consultant at the National University Hospital and Alexandra Hospital prior to leaving the restructured health care service in 2022 after more than 20 years of service.

His passion for medical education and mentoring led him to various faculty roles in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine training programmes. He was Associate Programme Director for the PGY-1 Programme between 2012 and 2019, Core Faculty for the Anaesthesia Residency Programme and Co-Director for the Anaesthesia and SICU Clinical Fellowship Programme at NUH.

Concurrent with these NUH appointments, Dr Lim was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Anaesthesia, Yong Loo Lin Medical School between 2010 and 2022 and was an examiner for the Anaesthesia Post-Graduate examinations. 

​

Aside from Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, Dr Lim had been, until recently, investigating various genetic risk factors for patients severe COVID infection and exploring possibilities for medical device innovation in neurosurgery in multidisciplinary collaborations at NUH and NUS.
 
For leisure, Dr Lim likes to explore his surroundings on foot and might be found on one of the many walking trails on the island, both natural and urban, when not called to work. He also does most of his creative thinking during these treasured moments.
