Dr. Jimmy Phoo is a full-time specialist in Anaesthesia since 2010. He graduated in 2003 and spent almost 20 years in public service, teaching and nurturing anaesthesia trainees and medical students alike. For his teaching, he has been awarded the Outstanding Faculty several times.

His interest lies in regional anaesthesia and in enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols. He strongly advocates for nerve blocks and personalised measures to ensure that patients are comfortable and clear-headed post-surgery.

He has spent time volunteering as a doctor in places of need in Cambodia, China and Peru. These experiences have made him keenly aware about wastage and he takes a cost-effective approach to his practice.

Outside of work, one might find him helping old ladies cross the road, hunched in a lab culturing plant tissues or cycling around the island.
